Warm Garter Stitch Scarf to Knit - Jeris Swanhorst
Warm Garter Stitch Scarf to Knit - Jeris Swanhorst
This is an easy, warm scarf to knit using garter stitch and two strands of worsted weight yarn held together.

A touch of whimsy is added to this basic scarf by creating pointed ends with pom poms attached to them. Since the scarf is made with two strands of worsted weight yarn held together, the scarf is very thick and warm. Caron's Simply Soft is the yarn used in the pictured scarf, and it is a good choice for softness. It is also inexpensive and easy to work with.

Variations on This Pattern

One easy variation to this pattern is to buy two skeins of worsted weight yarn, each in a different color. That way, when you work with the two strands held together, you will get a colorful, blended effect. Also, consider making the pom poms different colors from the rest of the scarf.
