Scarf Made with Acrylic Knitting Yarn - Jeris Swanhorst
Knit this warm winter scarf using double pointed knitting needles and three colors of soft acrylic yarn.

By knitting this scarf in the round using a set of four double pointed knitting needles, a largely seamless stockinette stitch scarf is created. This technique results in a thick, toasty scarf that won't roll up at the edges. Use three different colors of soft acrylic worsted weight yarn, such as Caron Simply Soft. The techniques used to knit this scarf are casting on, joining in the round, knitting, joining a new color of yarn, grafting, and sewing a seam.

Variations on This Pattern

For simple variations of this pattern, consider making the striped different sizes that the pattern given above. For instance, all of the stripes could be the same size, using five rounds of each color throughout. For a color block style, use large stripes, knitting 20 round sections with each color. A solid scarf could also be made using the knitting in the round technique. That style requires three skeins of the same color yarn to complete the project.
