Boys Hat - Jeris Swanhorst
Knit this striped hat using Lion Brand Wool Ease yarn in two colors and size 8 knitting needles.

This hat is a beanie, with a short ribbed cuff and is worked mainly in stockinette stitch. The yarn used is Lion Brand's Wool-Ease, which is a wool/acrylic blend that is machine washable and easy to work with. The finished hat will be a child's size large, which is good for a child between 10 and 13. With a simple stripe pattern, that can be made with any two colors of yarn, is easily adaptable to work for a girl or a boy.

While this pattern is good for beginners, it does require the knowledge of how to cast on, knit, purl, decrease stitches (by knitting or purling two stitches together), and sewing seams. An experienced knitter can likely complete this project in an evening.
